A new apartment building on the Bahamas will have swimming pools on every balcony.
The block, which is due to be completed in 2017, was designed by Bjarke Ingels Group.
Apartments will be between 280 – 740 sq.m., and prices will start at $5 mln.
Situated in the Albany resort in Nassau, the Bahamas, the building, named Honeycomb, will have 8 floors.
Construction started in 2014 and has reached the finishing touches stage. This will be just one of the four future luxury residences in the vicinity; the Honeycomb complex will overlook a yacht marine.
The balconies wil be lined with glass panels, thick and strong enough to withhold the water pressure from the swimming pools.
Each balcony will have two 30-cm-thick slabs, placed at different levels. They will make up the swimming pool’s floor, at maximum depth of 1.21 m.
Pipes will be built into the floor of each apartment to connect the swimming pools with the filtering mechanism in the kitchen area.
Along the edge of each pool there will be cosy seats, as well as tables for serving drinks.
The total BUA (built-up area) of the structure will be 16 258 sq. m., and will comprise 34 large apartments with a sitting room, dining room, kitchen and 2 – 7 bedrooms.
Each apartment will be finished up with expensive luxury materials and equipped with high-tech appliances.
