Is Mark Zuckerberg planning on entering politics and running for president at the next elections at the US?
This question has been circulating around American media since this week Facebook’s creator announced that he has hired David Plouffe, who was Barack Obama’s campaign manager.
He will run the organization of Zuckerberg’s philanthropic activities.
These news appeared only a few days after social network’s head that this year he intends to meet people in every single state of the USA.
“After the tempestuous last year, my goal for this one is to go out and talk to more people about the way they live, work and think about their future” Zuckerberg wrote in a post, quoted by CNN Money.
And if this is not enough for the skeptics to believe his plans for political career, it was recently confirmed by Facebook sources that he may work for the government for unspecified period, without damaging his engagements to the company.
“Normally, these are clear signals that one is preparing for a political career” Bradley Tusk, an IT companies consultant reckons.
Yet, he indicates that in the case of Zuckerberg, this is so far not very likely, as entering politics would be a step backwards for the leader of Facebook.
“Thanks to his wealth and platform, he has so much power and influence that there are few other positions which would be worthy of his move,” the expert says.
