A Richard Branson Company to make a Supersonic Plane capable of 2335kph

The British billionaire Richard Branson presented a prototype of a new supersonic airplane, which will reduce in half the air passage time. For example, 3hrs 15 mins will be enough to get from London to New York.

The XB-1 model also called “Baby Boom“, will be the fastest passenger plane, and Branson promises it will offer fast and “affordable” flights.

The new machine’s first flights will take place no earlier than 2023, and a London-New York ticket will cost 2500 dollars.

XB-1 is supposed to maintain speeds of 22.2 Machs or 2335 kph, which makes it 10 % faster than the discontinued Concord and 2.5 times as fast as ordinary airliners.

As early as last year Aerion announced that they are working on their supersonic model AS2.

Its test flights are scheduled to start in 2021, but the machine will not be so fast – it will fly at about 1800 kph.
