What we know so far: Marvel Movies hopes to use “Shang-Chi” to make Asia's first superhero movie. This film is based on the comic characters created by writer Steve Englehart and artist Jim Starlin in the early 1970s. The comic was born out of Marvel comics (Marvel Comics). Comics wanted to obtain the rights of the TV series “Kung Fu” (Kung Fu), but was deprived of rights. Instead, they obtained the rights of the villain Fu Manchu and created Shangzhi as the son of Fu Manchu.
n the comics, Shang-Chi was raised by his father and trained to martial arts, but when he learned that his father was actually evil, he opposed him. Marvel plans to put this kind of movie together with a combination of Asian actors and using Black Panther as a template. The short-term twelfth director Destin Daniel Cretton won the director’s performance, surpassing other candidates, including Alan Yang (no master) and Deborah Week (Deborah Chow) (Mandarin).
The film will introduce the MCU’s real Mandarin, to be played by Tony Leung, following the fake-out of the character in Iron Man 3. The film was originally scheduled to be released in February 2021 but was pushed due the pandemic.
