See the world’s Fastest Electric Car

London saw the premiere of the new brand NIO by the Chinese electro mobiles producer NextEV; simultaneously, the company presented their new Supersports model EP9.

NextEV commented that the new electric sports car EP9 set a new record on the Nurburgring Nordschleife race track on Oct 12fth. The car covered the track’s 20.8 kilometers in 7 minutes 5 seconds.

On November 4th, the new sports model also registered the fastest lap time so far on Circuit Paul Ricard – 1 minute 52.78 seconds. The previous fastest lap had been at 2 minutes 40 seconds.

NIO EP9 is a representative of the so-called “megawatt” super sports cars, offering 1360hp thanks to its 4 high-performance electric motors. The model is capable of accelerating 0-100 kph for 7.1 seconds, and the 300 kph line is crossed after 15.9 seconds.

NIO EP9 needs 10.1 seconds to cover a quarter of a mile, the final speed being 249 kph. The car’s maximum speed is 313 kph.

NIO EP9 is equipped with a battery system that allows a complete replacement of the exhausted system with a fully charged one. The recharge takes 45 minutes, and the autonomous range is 427 km.

Only a limited number of the supercar will be manufactured, and the model will compete with McLaren P1 and Aston Martin QAM-RB 001. The price will be about 1 million dollars.
